Hello and welcome! My name is Sadik. A 20-year-old, defined by the words physics, linguistics, and swimming, born in America and raised in Turkey, preferring to share rather than compete, beginning to speak not a single word, but a sentence, many months after his peers.
This could be related to my linguistics interest. Because of my incredible curiosity, I taught myself to read and write in Turkish in Latin while also learning to read the Quran in Arabic in kindergarten. After upsetting my mother, the first Turkish text I wrote; biliyorumaffetmezsinamaösürdilerim, which translates as “I know you don’t forgive me, but I am sorry; This note was sent from under the door of my parent’s room. I am especially grateful to my mother, who worked tirelessly to ensure that I received an excellent education.

I have an easygoing personality and enjoy swimming, listening to music, and hiking with my close friends. The best times of my life have been the four-week periods when I studied intensive physics and English, as well as the times when I swam with. Physics and literature for mental health, and swimming for physical health, are my future plans. I hope to be an intellectual in physics and/or linguistics one day, but in the meantime, I plan to swim professionally. When I push my limits in two-hour swimming sessions and lose contact with the outside world, it is one of my happiest moments.

My long-term goal is to be a good intellectual, leading people to be aware of their own rights through social enlightenment and education, and to reverse the global trend from democracy to autocracy and dictatorship, particularly in my own country, Turkey.
